Thank You, Edward Snowden
I just finished Permanent Record, Edward Snowden’s account of the mass surveillance carried out by the NSA and the government’s intelligence community (IC). It’s well written and well reasoned.
The scene where Snowden and a colleague observe the toddler sitting in his daddy’s lap at the dad’s computer is chilling. And I wonder whether the legislation passed in the wake of his revelations has actually prevented the IC from spying on us.
Thank you, Mr. Snowden, for your service and your sacrifice. May you be welcomed home soon.
